Q. Dois-je procéder à un mordançage avant de placer le produit d'étanchéité Embrace™ ?
R. Il faut toujours procéder à un mordançage de l'émail. Les produits qui prétendaient ne pas nécessiter de mordançage de l'émail ont été retirés du marché. Ils ne fonctionnaient pas.

Q. Jusqu'à quel point dois-je laisser la dent humide avant de placer Embrace ?
A. Placez Embrace sur des surfaces dentaires légèrement humides. Séchez légèrement la dent à l'aide d'air comprimé ou d'une boulette de coton, mais ne la desséchez pas. La dent doit être brillante ou lustrée. Il ne doit pas y avoir de gouttes ou de flaques d'eau.

Q. Que dois-je faire si je sèche trop la dent ?
R. Vous pouvez appliquer une boulette de coton humide sur la dent.

Q. Que se passe-t-il si je place Embrace sur une dent sèche ?
R. Embrace est activé par l'humidité. Il scelle une dent sèche, mais il fonctionne encore mieux en présence d'humidité.

Q. Dois-je utiliser un agent de liaison avec Embrace ?
R. Il n'est pas nécessaire d'utiliser un agent de liaison. Les essais cliniques montrent une rétention inégalée sans l'utilisation d'agents de liaison.

Q. Combien de dents un kit scelle-t-il ?
R. La seringue de 1,2 ml scelle 20 à 30 dents. Un kit de 4 seringues de 1,2 ml permet de sceller 80 à 120 dents. La seringue de 3 ml permet de sceller 50 à 75 dents.

Q. Pendant combien de temps Embrace restera-t-il sur les dents ?
R. Notre étude clinique a suivi 334 dents pendant 4 à 6 ans. Il n'y a pas eu de présélection des enfants. Même les enfants ayant une mauvaise hygiène et de mauvaises habitudes alimentaires ont été inclus. Dix pour cent des scellants ont dû être réparés ou remplacés au cours de la période de 4 à 6 ans. Seules trois dents présentaient des caries sur la surface occlusale scellée. Les dents scellées avec Embrace™ étaient exemptes de caries à 99 %.

Q. Combien de temps faut-il pour photopolymériser Embrace ?
R. Le temps de photopolymérisation avec une lampe halogène standard est de 20 secondes. Les lampes plus puissantes durcissent plus rapidement.

Q. Embrace guérit-il avec toutes les lumières ?
R. Oui.

Q. Embrace libère-t-il du fluorure ?
R. Oui.

FAQs

  • Q. Do I etch before placing Embrace Sealant?
    A. Always etch enamel. Products claiming they did not require enamel etching have been taken off the market. They did not work.
  • Q. How wet do I leave the tooth before placing Embrace?
    A. Place Embrace on slightly moist tooth surfaces. Lightly dry the tooth with compressed air or a cotton pellet, but do not desiccate the tooth. The tooth should appear shiny or glossy. There should be no drops or pooling of water.
  • Q. What should I do if I dry the tooth too much?
    A. You can apply a moist cotton pellet to the tooth.
  • Q. What happens if I place Embrace on a dry tooth?
    A. Embrace is activated by moisture. It will seal a dry tooth, but it works even better in the presence of moisture.
  • Q. Should I use a bonding agent with Embrace?
    A. It is not necessary to use a bonding agent. Clinical trials show unsurpassed retention without the use of bonding agents.
  • Q. How many teeth does a kit seal?
    A. The 1.2 mL syringe seals 20-30 teeth. A kit if 4 x 1.2 mL syringes seals 80-120 teeth. The 3 mL syringe seals 50-75 teeth.
  • Q. How long will Embrace stay on the teeth?
    A. Our clinical study has followed 334 teeth for 4-6 years. There was no pre-screening of children. Even children with poor hygiene and poor eating habits were included. Ten per cent of the sealants required repair or replacement over the 4-6 year period. Only three teeth had caries on the sealed occlusal surface. The teeth sealed with Embrace were 99% caries free.
  • Q. How long do I light cure Embrace?
    A. Light cure time with a standard halogen light is 20 seconds. More powerful lights will cure faster.
  • Q. Does Embrace cure with all lights?
    A. Yes.
  • Q. Is Embrace fluoride releasing?
    A. Yes.
